Holy Grails: KBeauty + JBeauty

It's been a bit over a week since my last holy grails post, but we're here, we're queer, and we're going to talk about KBeauty + JBeauty products that are my personal holy grails. Thank you to everyone who voted on IG for what you wanted to see next, a huge amount of you chose this topic! For those who aren't aware, KBeauty = Korean Beauty and JBeauty = Japanese Beauty. I've listened to your feedback and added Canadian links, American links, and International links to this post, but also previous posts too. Some products may not be available for international shipping, however if they do become available or you know an authorized retailer, feel free to comment below and I'll add it. With all that being said, let's jump into the serums post!

Reminder: most of these are linked through Yesstyle as that's where I've personally purchased all of these items and I know I'm receiving authentic products, from authorized retailers. I am a Yesstyle partner, so if you want to save extra money at checkout you can use the Rewards Code JUSTINSPRACK for $$ off your order.

Étude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types (Very Dry Skin May Not Like This)

Why I love it: the first ever k-beauty product I tried was this sunscreen. I've never been able to find a sunscreen that I liked because a lot of drugstore ones I tried were very slimy and I hated wearing it... Then I found this baby and I've now gone through at least 5 bottles of it. It dries down more on the matte side, doesn't give a white cast, and best of all... $16 (CAD). It is SO affordable.

Key Ingredient(s): Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Centella Asiatica, Hyaluronic Acid

Rohto Melano CC Vitamin C Essence

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types

Why I love it: this has always been my favourite spot treatments for PIE or PIH. I've also been through probably 4-5 tubes of this and will continuously purchase it because it quickly banishes *fresh* marks. I don't like using it all over because it is a bit more on the oilier side, but spot treating with it is amazing!

Key Ingredient(s): Ascorbic Acid, Tocopherol Acetate, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate

Purito Centella Unscented Sunscreen SPF50

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types

Why I love it: just as it says on the package, it's suitable for anyone, it's calming + moisturizing and there is no sticky or white cast. For those who like to avoid synthetic fragrance + essential oils, this contains neither one of those. There is one with a GREEN label which does contain EOs.

Key Ingredient(s): Niacinamide, Asiaticoside, Madecassoside, Centella Asiatica Extract, Hyaluronic Acid

Some By Mi 30 Day Miracle Toner

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types

Why I love it: I wanted to find a good substitute for the exfoliants I was using prior to this, that wasn't so strong, and I discovered this on YesStyle and loved how gentle and hydrating it is. There's a lot in it to exfoliate the skin gently, hydrate, and brighten your overall complexion

Key Ingredient(s): Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Salicylic Acid, Lactobionic Acid

CosRx Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types

Why I love it: I know it's an "essence" but because of the thickness, I use it in my serum section of my routine. Snail mucin is a humectant, also anti-inflammatory and if you know anything about K-Beauty, you've definitely heard about this.

Key Ingredient(s): Snail Sectetion Filtrate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Panthenol.

Benton Fermentation Essence

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types

Why I love it: if you're into galactomyces, this will be the serum you'll need to try. It's packed with a ton of hydrating, soothing, and brightening ingredients, it's lightweight and non-sticky. I know a lot of people don't like the tacky feeling with hyaluronic acid serums and this one doesn't have that.

Key Ingredient(s): Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Ceramide NP, Aloe, Panthenol, Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate.

Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types (Especially Dry-Acneic Skin)

Why I love it: this is a perfect alternative to the PC 2% BHA if you're someone who couldn't handle that. Once again, not everything needs to be super strong and that is where this toner comes in. At 0.5% Salicylic Acid, this will still help your skin but won't be irritating + it's VERY hydrating (base ingredient is Aloe)

Key Ingredient(s): Aloe, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Snail Filtrate

Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types

Why I love it: this is the updated packaging which is in a PLASTIC tube. It is a bit thicker, however a little goes a long way and I've found this to absorb faster than most thick moisturizers. Great for winter time if you experience dryness/dehydration!

Key Ingredient(s): Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Centella Asiatica Extract

Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence

Suitable Skin Type(s): All Skin Types

Why I love it: as you know, I'm not a fan of toners/mists/etc, but I have to say that this is still a wonderful essence. It's a complete dupe for the SK-II essence that everyone loves, but for a fraction of the cost. It also contains more brightening ingredients in it

Key Ingredient(s): Glycerin, Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Arbutin, Aloe, Green Tea Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract

CosRx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

Suitable Skin Type(s): Normal, Combination, Oily

Why I love it: it really gives a good deep cleanse without stripping the skin. This cleanser does foam up quite a bit and I don't think it would be suitable for dry skin, however there are lots of dry skin types who love it. If lathering is a common thing your dry skin doesn't like, don't buy this.

Key Ingredient(s): Tea Tree, Betaine Salicylate, Allantoin, Anti-Oxidants
